Easy Crochet Striped Tank Top: Quick & Easy Tutorial
Hello my crochet friends!
We’re enjoying beautiful, sunny, and really hot summer days here! It's the perfect time for vacations and lazy days by the water or sea. If you're looking for a quick and easy project, I have just the thing: a striped navy tank top tutorial.
For this tank top, I chose a super simple pattern of double crochets and chain stitches with a straightforward construction. You can easily customize the length to your liking—I opted for a waist-length top with small slits on the sides.
I used Breeze yarn, which is new to me and an absolute delight! It's a blend of cotton and viscose, wonderfully soft with a subtle sheen. Breeze is perfect for summer and feels amazing against the skin.
The pattern for this tank top is easy to remember, with alternating white and blue stripes. The blue stripes feature a lovely chain stitch pattern. There’s no complicated counting involved, making it a quick and satisfying project. You’ll be thrilled with how fast it comes together, giving you a chic new piece for your summer wardrobe in just a weekend.

EASY CROCHET STRIPED TANK TOP BREEZE
So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this EASY CROCHET STRIPED TANK TOP BREEZE.
The CROCHET STRIPED TANK TOP BREEZE has a simple construction, where you crochet the front and back panels and then we join them together. If you want to adjust the size, it's very easy, just change the length of the foundation chain and the number of rows for the tank top.
Size: woman MEDIUM SIZE
This can easily be adapted to a smaller size or bigger size.
The CROCHET TANK TOP is crocheted with premium yarn BREEZE and BREEZE COLOR

1 ball: 50g / 150 m / 70% cotton + 30% viscosa
Breeze Color

You will need 4 balls of this beautifully soft and pleasant yarn.
Color A: white
Color B: color - blue
Recommended Hook: 5 mm
Stitch markers
Scissors and tapestry needle
Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners
US crochet terms:
SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
CHSP - chain space
SC - single crochet
DC - double crochet
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)

EASY CROCHET STRIPED TANK TOP BREEZE
PATTERN NOTES
1) Before you start the TANK TOP take a measurement, I would recommend to determine the width of your chest. If you want to have your TOP wider, make a longer foundation chain at the beginning. If you want to have your top longer, make more rows.
2) This pattern is for MEDIUM women size, but you can easily adapt to a smaller size or bigger size just by reducing or increasing the number of chains and rows for the top and as well as making less or more chains in the basic chain.
5) A ch1 at beg of the row DOESN'T COUNT as a stitch.
6) A ch3 at beg of the row COUNTS as a DOUBLE CROCHET.
7) The TOP measures:
Tank top height: 62 cm / 24.2 inch
Tank top width: 41 cm cm / 16 inch
Strap length: 12 cm / 4.7 inch
Strap width: 10 cm / 4 inch
Armhole: 22 cm / 8.6 inch
Neckline opening: 19 cm / 7.4 inch
Slit: 12 cm / 4.7 inch
*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.
8) The TOP is worked in 2 pieces:

THE WRITTEN PATTERN
Work in rows, turn your work when your finish row.
Crochet Hook 5 mm.
Make a slip knot and chain foundation chain.
FRONT PANEL
Make a foundation chain: 59 chains
Work in rows back and forth.
Turn your work when you finish the row:
A ch3 at beg of row works as a double crochet.
Color A
R1: turning ch1, 1hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1hdc in each ch till end of row (59 hdc) Turn.
R2: turning ch1, 1hdc FLO in each st till end of row (59 hdc) Turn.
Color B
R3: turning ch1, 1sc in each st till end of row (59 sc) Turn.
R4: ch3 (ds), *(ch1, skip ch1, 1ds in next st) *, repeat from * to * till end of row. Turn. (28 chain spaces)
R5: turning ch1, 1sc do 1. sl *(1sc in chsp, 1sc in next st)*, repeat from * to * till end of row. Turn.
Color A
R6: ch3 (ds), 1ds in each st till end of row. Turn.
R7: ch3 (ds), 1ds in each st till end of row. Turn.
R8 - R42: Repeat rows R3 till R7
STRAPS
Make 2 the same wide and length straps.
The same hook 5.5 mm
Work in rows back and forth.
Turn your work when you finish the row.
A ch3 at beg of row works as a double crochet.
Re-join a new yarn.
Work on the right side.
Color B
R1: turning ch1, 1sc in next 15 st (15 sc) Turn.
R2: ch3 (ds), *(ch1, skip ch1, 1ds in next st) *, repeat from * to * till end of row. Turn. (7 chain spaces)
R3: turning ch1, 1sc do 1. sl *(1sc in chsp, 1sc in next st)*, repeat from * to * till end of row. Turn.
Color A
R4: ch3 (ds), 1ds in each st till end of row. Turn.
R5: ch3 (ds), 1ds in each st till end of row. Turn.
Color B
R6: turning ch1, 1sc in each st till end of row (59 sc) Turn.
R7: ch3 (ds), *(ch1, skip ch1, 1ds in next st) *, repeat from * to * till end of row. Turn. (28 chain spaces)
R8: turning ch1, 1sc do 1. sl *(1sc in chsp, 1sc in next st)*, repeat from * to * till end of row. Turn.
R9 - R10: Repeat rows R4 and R5
Till you are happy with the width and height of the strap. Cut the yarn and fasten off.
Re-join a new yarn on the opposite side and make the second straps.
BORDER ALONG THE NECKLACE
Color A
Re-join a new yarn.
Work on the right side.
Make single crochet evenly around. I would recommend you to crochet 3single crochet around 1 double crochet and 1sc in each sc.
Cut the yarn, fasten off the loose ends and we're done with THE FRONT PANEL OF YOUR TANK TOP!
BACK PANEL
REPEAT THE INSTRUCTION FOR THE BACK PANEL
Sew both panels together on sides.
Leave about rows unsewn to make armholes.
Sew both panels on the shoulders as well.
