EDGING
The top border
With the right side of the work facing you and the yarn color of your choice.
I used the light pink color.
Join yarn to the right-most corner.
R1: ch1, 2 sc in corner chain space, 2sc in next ch3sp, picot, 1sc in same ch3sp,
*3sc in next ch5sp, picot, 2sc in same ch5sp*, rep from * to * 5 times till you reach ch3sp
2sc in next ch3sp, picot, 1sc in same ch3sp,
Corner: 1sc in sc, 1sc in dc, 2sc in ch3sp, 2sc in next ch3sp, 1sc in dc, 1sc in sc
Continue crocheting along side till you reach the left top corner:
2sc in next ch3sp, picot, 1sc in same ch3sp,
*3sc in next ch5sp, picot, 2sc in same ch5sp*, rep from * to * 5 times till you reach ch3sp
2sc in next ch3sp, picot, 1sc in same ch3sp,
Corner: 3sc in top corner (ch3sp)
Repeat instructions and make a picot border along your Flower Granny Square top, until you get back to where you started at the beginning of the picot border. Join to first sc with sl st.
Fasten off securely.
Weave in any loose ends.
The Bottom Edging = row of single crochets.
Starting at the bottom edge of the top.
With the right side of the work facing you and the yarn color of your choice.
I used the light pink color.
Start at the corner of a granny square – ch1, 3sc around every edge stitch around of the bottom edge of top and always ch 1 in each sc (there are sc placed in magic ring in the middle of each triangle).
Repeat until you get back to where you started at the beginning of the bottom border, sl-st into the first st.
You will have 1 row of single crochets.
Fasten off securely.
Weave in any loose ends.
STRAPS
Make a foundation chain – I made a chain with 3 strands together.
Pull the chain in one of the corners on the front and in one of the corner on the back (the same side)
Repeat on the other side.
You can adjust the length depending on how long you want your strap to be.
Fasten off, weave in the ends.
Now that your lovely Flower Granny Square Top is assembled and you will hide all loose tails in the wrong side of your work and turn it right side facing you.
My lovely Flower Granny Square Top measures cm / inches tall and about cm / inches long.
You can easily work this to fit any size you need! The fabric also has a nice stretch to it because of the lacy flower design. I absolutely love this design and the texture created by the open airy stitches.
Enjoy and wear your lovely Flower Granny Square Top on many wonderful events!
