Cozy Crochet Stylish Boots on sole made with Wooly Sock Yarn
Hello, my dear friends!
I’ve started crocheting my second pair of shoes, and this time, they’re perfect for spring and fall. I chose an ankle boot style and picked a thicker wool yarn, Wooltime, for crocheting. This yarn is fantastic for socks and comes in beautiful colors, both solid and multicolor. I selected two coordinating balls of yarn – a neutral, natural color and a multicolor ball in shades of brown and gray.
For the crochet, I used a purchased black sole that already had a gold-brown thread around the edge – this made starting the crochet much easier.
The shoes are crocheted simply with single crochet stitches, row by row, and I was surprised at how quickly it came together. Adjusting the size and shape of the shoe isn’t too difficult either, especially since you can try them on as you go and adjust the width, fit, and height to your liking.
Crocheting around the sole can be tricky at first – it takes a little getting used to, as the sole isn’t flexible, so you have to rotate it as you work to get the hook through the holes in the first row. But after a few rows, it becomes much easier, and soon, crocheting in single stitches is a relaxing process.
One of the best parts about crocheting your own shoes – as with other crochet projects – is that you can create truly unique shoes, made-to-measure and perfectly matching your taste and foot shape so they fit like a dream.
In my video tutorial, I’ll share my experiences and tips. The pattern is suited for more experienced beginners; no special skills are needed, as everything is explained and shown step-by-step in the video.
I hope you enjoy the tutorial and end up with stylish, original shoes for spring and fall. You can even decorate them with straps – I crocheted two straps and added buttons for extra flair.
