It’s finally here! I’m so happy and so excited to share my newest free crochet pattern with you! The Fans Lacy Skirt is so cute skirt for girls - perfect for summer time or in fall with leggings. 

The FANS LACY SKIRT is an amazing and really fun outfit. 

You can easily customise the length of this skirt. Make it a mini or a maxi. The pattern is easy, the construction is simple and can be completed by a very beginner. There are no fancy stitches.

The pattern is for girls size plus directions bellow on increasing and decreasing the size.

The entire skirt is only one piece as its crocheted in the rounds from the waist down and there isn’t any extra seaming to join the skirt together.

FANS LACY SKIRT DIRECTIONS 
This lovely FANS LACY SKIRT is easy to make.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches - single and double crochets and chains.
This skirt is crocheted from the top down.
The direction shown are for girls small size, 140 cm, but can be easily converted into bigger size or smaller size. It is a highly adaptable pattern that you can easily make in any size.
Work in rounds from the top to bottom.

Yarn: the pattern was made with some rainbow yarn, weight: fine yarn.
Unfortunately I got this ball without the information.  

My recommendation to substitute is Duhova Fantazie, 200g / 800 m, 50% acrylic, 50% cotton, 1 skein or Alize Bella Ombre Batik, 250g / 900 m, 100% cotton, 1 skein

For this pattern you will need 3.5 mm crochet hook.

Scissors and tapestry needle

Optionally: markers

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners

US crochet term:
SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
SC – simple crochet
DC - double crochet
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat

BLO = Back Loop Only

FANS LACY SKIRT PATERN NOTES 

1) Before you start take a waist circumference and a hip circumference measurement.

I started with 113 rows of single crochet stitches for waist.

2) This pattern is for girls size but you can changed to bigger size by making more or less chains of the foundation chain. Remember that when making your dress bigger you will need more yarn.

3) This skirt is created from the waist and down so the waist and skirt length/width are customizable.

I suggest trying on the skirt at the end of the ‘WAIST’ and ‘SKIRT INCREASE’ instructions. You can add or remove rounds after each stage to customize fit.

4) The skirt is perfectly symmetrical

5) The entire skirt is only one piece as its crocheted in the rounds from the waist down and there isn’t any extra seaming to join the skirt together. Since this is a waist down crochet pattern, it’s very easy to alter so that this skirt can fit your body.

6) Instructions between two asterisks should be repeated for the remainder of the round

7) Measurement:
Waist: 56 cm / 22 inch
Skirt length: 44 cm / 17.5 inch
Bottom circumference: 166 cm / 65 inch

*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.

HOW TO CROCHET FANS LACY SKIRT

THE WRITTEN PATTERN

WAIST

Pick up the 3.5 mm crochet hook and start the foundation chain 12 chains. 

Work in rows

*Note - you can make a foundation chain shorter or longer to make the waist part shorter or longer.

R1: ch1, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next 11 chains, turn (12 sc)

R2: ch1, 1sc BLO in each st along till end of row, turn (12 sc)

R1 - R113: Repeat row R2 

*Note – You can repeat row R2 as many times as you want to make the waist to fit you. Make sure the number of row is a multiple of 4 (113 +/- 4)

SKIRT INCREASE PART:
with same yarn and crochet hook

R1: ch3 (1dc), ch2, sk 1 row on waist part, 1dc in sc in next row, ch2, skip 1 row *1dc in sc in next row, ch2, skip 1 row*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (56 dc and 56 ch1sp between them)

R2: ch3 (1dc), 1dc in first ch2sp, ch3, 2dc in first ch2sp, skip next ch2sp *(2dc, ch3, 2dc) in next ch2sp, skip next ch2sp*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (28 groups of  2dc+ch3+2dc)

R3: sl st in next st, ch3 (1dc), 8dc in first ch3sp, skip 2dc, 1sc in between 2dc groups, skip 2dc, *(9dc in next ch3sp, sk 2dc, 1sc in between 2dc groups, sk 2dc) *, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (28 groups of 9dc and 1sc between them)

R4: sl st in next 4 st, ch1, skip 4dc, skip 1sc, skip 4dc, ch8, *1sc in next st, skip 4dc, skip 1sc, skip 4dc, ch8*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 1st ch from beg (28 repetitions of 1sc and 8 chains between them)

R5: ch3 (1dc), skip 2 ch, ch2, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch, *1dc in sc, ch2, skip 2 ch, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (84 dc and ch2sp between them)

R6: ch3 (1dc), 1dc in first ch2sp, ch3, 2dc in first ch2sp, skip next ch2sp *(2dc, ch3, 2dc) in next ch2sp, skip next ch2sp*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (42 groups of  2dc+ch3+2dc)

R7: sl st in next st, ch3 (1dc), 8dc in first ch3sp, skip 2dc, 1sc in between 2dc groups, skip 2dc, *(9dc in next ch3sp, sk 2dc, 1sc in between 2dc groups, sk 2dc) *, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (42 groups of 9dc and 1sc between them)

R8: sl st in next 4 st, ch1, skip 4dc, skip 1sc, skip 4dc, ch8, *1sc in next st, skip 4dc, skip 1sc, skip 4dc, ch8*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 1st ch from beg (42 repetitions of 1sc and 8 chains between them)

R9: ch3 (1dc), skip 2 ch, ch2, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch, *1dc in sc, ch2, skip 2 ch, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch, 1dc in next ch, ch2, skip 2 ch*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (126 dc and ch2sp between them)

R10: ch3 (1dc), 1dc in first ch2sp, ch3, 2dc in first ch2sp, skip next ch2sp *(2dc, ch3, 2dc) in next ch2sp, skip next ch2sp*, repeat from * to * till end of round, sl st in 3rd ch from beg (63 groups of  2dc+ch3+2dc)

Cut and fasten the yarn.

*You can add or remove rounds to have a longer/shorter skirt.

Once you’re satisfied with the length, fasten off and weave in ends.
