Hello My Crochet Friends!

The weather is warming and so I made a chic accessory for sunny days at the beach: The PINK Sun Beach Hat! The hat is so airy and lightweight and breezy for when that sun is beaming down on you.

Little girls would love to wear this wonderful crocheted Pamuk Makreme PLATINUM summer hat with colorful sequins.

The hat has a simple shape and style, I prepared the instructions for a girl's size 5 years. The size can be adjusted very well and easily to a larger or smaller girl's or women's size.

The patter is perfect for beginners. 

As you know me, I love caps and hats. This hat is easy, has a classic summer hat look with a wider brim, perfect for the sun. You can decorate the hat with an original bow or scarf.

The hat is crocheted from the yarn: Pamuk Makreme Platinum, it is light, airy and above all holds its shape wonderfully.

I choose Pamuk Makreme Platinum with a very distinctive pink color, there are many different color versions to choose from, according to your taste.

You can style it with your favorite swimsuit or accessories.

CROCHET SUN SUMMER HAT PAMUK MAKREME PLATINUM DIRECTION

So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this perfect sun hat!

This sun hat is crocheted with single crochets, trebles and chains only.

The SUN SUMMER HAT PAMUK MAKREME PLATINUM has a simple construction, crocheted in spiral rounds as one piece from top down.

Pamuk Makreme Platinum
250 g / 265 m / 80 % cotton, 15 polyester + 5 % sequins

Cotton, braided solid twine character yarn with the addition of colored sequins on the thread.
Various accessories can be knitted or crocheted from the yarn = rugs, mats, ornaments and decorations, and they are very suitable for handbags, bags and various baskets and many more.

For HAT kids size 5-6 years: 1/2 ball  

Size: this can easily be adapted to a smaller size or bigger size just by reducing or increasing the number of stitches in the first row and as well as making less or more rows for the summer hat.

 

 

 

 

Recommended Hook: 4.0 mm

I originally designed this hat for little girls 5-6 years old, I wanted it to be very open, lightweight and airy and breezy on top so it would be comfortable to wear in the heat.

The top is a very basic, easy single crochets pattern and it has a solid brim to keep the sun out of your eyes.

The hat is beginner friendly – holding the perfect shape without the help of wires, starch, or glue. I’m happy to share that I found a way to create the perfect brim! Everybody will love PINK PAMUK MAKREME PLATINUM Sun BEACH Hat as much as I do!

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – very easy for ultimate beginners

CH/s – chain/s
SC – simple crochet
TR - treble / tripple crochet

YO – yarn over

Pattern Notes

1) This pattern below is for girls size, the hat can be easily adapted to a smaller size or bigger size just by reducing or increasing the numbers of stitches and as well as less or more numbers of rows. Remember that when making bigger hat size, you will need more yarn.

GIRLS Size:
Head measurement: 20.7 inch / 53 cm 
Hat measurement: 19.5 inch / 50 cm
Hat crown size: 6.3 inch / 16 cm
Hat height size: 7 inch / 18 cm 
Brim: 3 inch / 7.5 cm 

*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.

2) This Pattern is worked in spiral rounds and in joined rounds, crocheted from the top down using single crochets.
3) A Ch1 / a ch2 at beg of the row doesn't count as a stitch

4) On every round with single crochets work in spiral rounds, don’t closed round with slip stitch

5) On every round with treble crochets work in closed rounds. Replace first treble crochet with 2 chain stitches. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 2nd chain stitch at beginning of round.

6) The hat is symmetrical.

7) The entire hat is only one piece as its crocheted in the rounds and there isn’t any extra seaming to join the hat together. 

8) Instructions between two asterisks should be repeated for the remainder of the round

WRITTEN PATTERN 

HAT
Crochet Hook 4.00 mm.
Make a magic ring.  

R1: ch2, 6sc in the magic ring (6sc)

R2: 2sc in each st (12sc)

R3: *2sc in next st, 1sx in next st* repeat from * to * till end of round (18sc) 

R4: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 2st* repeat from * to * till end of round (24sc) 

R5: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 3st* repeat from * to * till end of round (30sc) 

R6: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 4st* repeat from * to * till end of round (36sc) 

R7: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 5st* repeat from * to * till end of round (42sc) 

R8: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 6st* repeat from * to * till end of round (48sc) 

R9: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 7st* repeat from * to * till end of round (54sc) 

R10: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 8st* repeat from * to * till end of round (60sc) 

R11: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 9st* repeat from * to * till end of round (66sc) 

R12: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 10st* repeat from * to * till end of round (72sc) 

For bigger sizes: continue like this until there are 78-84 single crochet on round (work 1 single crochet more between every increase for every round and increase 6 single crochet per round).

For a larger size, continue increasing as above until you have 78 sc for the teenage size, 84 sc for the smaller women's size, 90 sc for the larger women's size.

Increase by 6 stitches evenly in each round.

For all sizes:

R13: 1sc in each st from previous round 

R14 - R24: Repeat round R13, till you have a hat long enough, the lengh about 9 cm (10 cm for teenage size and smaller women’s size, 11 cm for bigger women’s size)

Lace Pattern with chain spaces:

R1: ch2 (tr), 1tr in next st, ch1, skip 2ch, *2 tr in next st, ch1, skip 2ch* repeat from * to * till end of round, close round with a sl st in 2nd ch from beg.

R2: ch1, *1sc in each st and in each ch1sp* repeat from * to * till end of round (72sc) 

R3: *1sc in each st* repeat from * to * till end of round (72sc) 

Brim: 

R1: *2 tr in next st, ch1, skip 2ch* repeat from * to * till end of round

R2: *1sc in each st and in each ch1sp* repeat from * to * till end of round (72sc) 

For all sizes: increase 36 single crochet evenly

R3: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next st* repeat from * to * till end of round (72 + 36sc = 108sc)

R4: *2 tr in next st, ch1, skip 2ch* repeat from * to * till end of round (108sc) 

R5: *1sc in each st and in each ch1sp* repeat from * to * till end of round (108sc) 

R6: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 2st* repeat from * to * till end of round (108 + 36sc = 144sc)

R7 - R9: *1sc in each st* repeat from * to * till end of round (144sc) 

R10 *1sl st in each st* repeat from * to * till end of round (144 sl st) 

Cut the yarn. Fasten off.

Thread a ribbon for decoration up and down through 1st or 2nd round with lace pattern worked on hat.

Add flair to suit your style to really personalize this piece, or leave it as is! With this design being so simple, one of my favorite things about it is how I can accessorize it in all sorts of ways. You can make a crochet chain to tie around it, add a hat band from another hat you have, or wrap a bandana or headband around it! I love to tie a white ribbon around the crown.
