Crochet Stylish Striped Bag Rucksack with Strap

Hello My Crochet Friends!

bags, rucksacks, sacks, purses and market bags - this is my favorite topic for crocheting and also for a gift not only for my girlfriends and friends, family, but as I always say - it will please basically anyone who you want to make happy with a crocheted gift.
Today I have prepared for you a very easy tutorial for a simple bag - like a backpack or a rucksack - with a strap for tying.

This bag is so stylish and beautiful and practical and the structure allows to stretch to hold many items during grocery. It is true simple, very cozy and comfortable.
 
The bag has a simple design and you can crochet it bigger or smaller, wider or narrower - according to your needs and taste. The bag is easy to customize and its shape allows you to hold many things, it is suitable also for school or exercise. This bag is great for trips to the farmers market, library, or summer days at the beach. It is large enough to fit everything you need, and can also fold up for easy storage and travel. 

I chose the very pleasant Gardenya Cake yarn from Vlnika, which has beautiful tone-on-tone color transitions.

The bag is crocheted with double crochet stitches and even beginners can handle it, it is crocheted from the bottom up, first as a circle, which we gradually change into a square and then shape into a 4-sided bag.

This guide is intended for beginners. No special knowledge of crocheting is needed, everything is explained and shown in detail in the video tutorial.

I really love to crochet bags, purses and rucksacks! There is no special shaping in the instructions, so it is absolutely ideal for very beginners.

So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this CROCHET STYLISH STRIPED BAG - RUCKSACK - WITH STRAP!

CROCHET STYLISH STRIPED BAG - RUCKSACK - WITH STRAP
PATTERN DIRECTIONS 
 
This bag is very easy and quick to make.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches - double crochets and chains.
 
The pattern was made with Gardenya Cake
Gardenya Cake: 250g / 350m / 60% cotton a 40% polyester
 
You will need 1 ball

You will need also scissors and tapestry needle
Crochet hook: 4.0 mm
 
Difficulty Level: Level 1 – for beginners
 
US crochet terms: 
SlSt – slip stitch 
CH/s – chain/s 
DC - double crochet 
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat

PATTERN NOTES
1) In the part when you crochet in closed rounds, ch3 at the beginning of the row count as a 1dc 
2) end each round with a slip stitch in the 3rd ch at the beginning of the row
3) The project is crocheted with a double crochet stitches and chains
4) the bag is crocheted from bottom up, first we crochet a circle, then a square with 4 corners, then 4 sides. 5).the bag is crocheted as a one piece
6) Size:  
high: 35 cm / 13.5 inch
width of one side 17 cm / 6.6 inch

THE WRITTEN PATTERN
Make a magic ring
R1: ch3 (dc), 11 dc (12 dc)
R2: ch3 (dc), 1dc in same st, 2dc in each st around (24 dc)
R3: ch3 (dc), 2dc in next st, *1ds in next sl, 2dc in next st* repeat from * to * until the end of the row, close the row with a sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of the row (36 ds)
R4: ch3 (dc), 1dc in next st, 2dc in next st, 1dc in next 2st, (1dc, ch3, 1dc) in next st, 1dc in next 2 st, 2dc in next st,
*1dc in next 2 st, 2dc in next st, 1dc in next 2st, (1dc, ch3, 1dc) in next st, 1dc in next 2 st, 2dc in next st* repeat from * to * until the end of the row, close the row with a sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of the row. (48 dc)
R5: ch3 (dc), *1dc in each st till you reach ch3sp, (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in ch3sp* repeat from * to * until the last ch3sp, finish the row with 1dc in each st till you reach the end of row, close the row with a sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of the row. (64 dc)
R6 - R9: Repeat R5
R9: 128 dc
Make more rows if you want to have the bag wider.

R10: ch2 (dc), dc3tog, 1dc in next 13 st till you reach ch3sp, (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in ch3sp, 1dc in next 13st, dc3tog

*dc3tog, 1dc in next 13 st till you reach ch3sp, (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in ch3sp, 1dc in next 13st, dc3tog*

repeat from * to * until the end of row, close the row with a sl st on the top of dc3tog st at the beginning of the row.

 

Repeat row R10 the instructions till you are satisfied with the length of your bag.

 

I made 23 rows.

Length: 35 cm / 13.5 inch

Width of one side: 17 cm / 6.6 inch

 

Make a strand and pull the strand through a chain spaces on the last round. Then make a knot with the ends of the strand on the outside of the bag.
