Bright and Cheery: Crochet Colorful Balls for Everyone

Crocheting little items for fun is one of my favorite pastimes. Today, I'm excited to share a tutorial featuring one of my beloved projects: simple, cheerful colored balls.
These balls are not only quick and easy to crochet but also serve various purposes. They can be delightful toys for children, stress-relief balls for friends, or playful keychains for gifting.
Crocheting these balls is a breeze, making them perfect for beginners. In fact, I used this very tutorial to teach my incredibly talented niece how to crochet, and she made them as gifts for her friends.
You have endless options when it comes to color choices. Whether you opt for harmonizing colors or use up different yarn scraps, you'll end up with a collection of vibrant balls suitable for everyone. For instance, I crocheted balls in the colors of the Sparta football club for my son, who's an avid player. If you have football enthusiasts at home, a ball in the colors of their favorite club is sure to bring them joy.

This CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS PATTERN is a cute toy. Toy, easy and quick to crochet, great project for beginners. This little CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS will give your own little one lots of fun at playtime.
CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS
MATERIALS
Amigurumi Cotton Yarn you like to use for crafting toys.

Terezka: scraps of colored balls

3.0 mm crochet hook
Scissors
Stuffings
Sewing/Embroidery and yarn needle/tapestry needle for sewing pieces together and weaving in ends
Pins
Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners
US crochet terms:
SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
SC - single crochet
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP – repeat
This pattern requires familiarity with stitches used, attaching yarn, sewing parts together with a sewing needle.
CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS
PATTERN NOTES
1) A ch1 at beg of the row DOESN'T count as a stitch
2) I recommend to crochet with double strands to make the balls stronger
3) Crochet in rows, back and forth. Crochet 3 rectangles of the same size.
4) ( ) – The number of stitches that should be in a completed round/row are placed in brackets at the end of that round’s/row’s instructions.
5) This CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALL - rectangle:
length: 12 cm
width: 3 cm
The finished size will depend on what yarn you use, as well as your tension and hook (as with any amigurumi).
6) You can make the CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS bigger with a thicker yarn or a larger hook size.
CROCHET COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS
THE WRITTEN PATTERN
Crochet hook 3.0 mm.
A ch1 at beg of the row DOESN'T count as a stitch
This part is worked in rows. Make a foundation chain, chain 23 chains.
R1: ch1, 1sc in each ch, turn (23 sc)
R2: ch1, 1sc in each st BLO, turn (23 sc)
R3 - R6: repeat row R2
Cut yarn and fasten off and wave all ends in.
We crochet 3 rectangles for 1 ball.
NOTE: if you are crocheting with different yarns, be sure to keep the measurements the same size. When using stronger yarn, I crocheted 20 stitches in a row and crochet only 5 rows.
FINISHING - INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Sew the first 2 rectangles together - sew the shorter sides firmly together, stitch to stitch.
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
We will sew the third rectangle after completing and stuffing the ball.
Insert the joined rectangle 1 into the joined rectangle 2, in an L shape.
Fold rectangle 3 along the long side, insert it into rectangle 2. Pull rectangle 3 through rectangle 1, over rectangle 2 and again over rectangle 1 to the place where we inserted rectangle 3 - the shorter sides are now together.
Fill the ball with toy stuffing. Stuff the ball well.
Make sure you have the ball sufficiently filled with toy stuffing and if necessary add more stuffing before completing the sewing.
Sew rectangle 3 - the shorter sides firmly together, stitch to stitch.
And voila! You made an cute COLORFUL CHEERY BALLS!
